Cool Stop nerfing farming zones (ideas and suggestions for more loot and farming spots)

Ok, i have an idea. I've been a farmer for a little while now, have mostly done trolls, along with some hydras and minotaurs, and mostly every other farmable moster out there (except avicara, dam birds) and ive noticed that the loot they drop kinda sucks.

Lets start with trolls, over the months that ive farmed them ive gotten like 300+ troll tusks, a bajillion raven staves, some other random whites and blues, and money. The things i havent gotten though are golds and even purples. In fact, I've gotten a grand total of 1 gold (raven staff that sucked) and like 5 purples(some werent even max damage) troll farming (i know this is pretty unlucky but im trying to prove a point).

Hydras, 1 purple and money and random whites(havent farmed them much)

Minotaurs, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They dont drop anything for me except coins and whites/blues.

So, I was thinking, Y cant anet replace the golds and purples that the monsters drop? This would definetely encourage me and new farmers to get going again or start farming (I've stopped wasting my time farming trolls for now). Also it would give the people who r good enough to solo things the money that they deserve, Ex: more than 1 perfect fellblade drop every ten years. :P

Also, maybe anet could make some new places to farm some new monsters, not necesarilly add to the map, but maybe put another troll cave by beacons perch or something like that, or they could make some new monsters entirely, such as lvl 24 ettins ( i dont know if theres anything above lvl 15 right now), or maybe something gw has never seen, like a lightning imp or evil people in prophecies that can be farmed, they have a camp or something then u go in and kill them all, and take their loot.

Anyways, these are my ideas, and comments are certainly welcome, also if u like this idea and are looking for some new monsters and loot, feel free to sign this to let anet know u like this idea.

Thanks

The whole point is that they are discouraging farming...... and also reducing the effectiveness of bots wile they are at it.

I think more alternative means should be made to gain monetary wealth and powerful items that way people would get off of farming, as well as institute more traders and lower price caps to keep prices from getting and staying unreasonable.

/please don't make any more places for the bots to overrun.

Anything in the game right now can be "farmed", don't limit yourself to trolls and minotaurs.

If you farm the same place continuously the drops will decrease. At least Anet gave compassion to monsters, and said "OK you snarly, scaly, hairy creatures... here's your allowance, don't waste it when the humans come to kill you!!"

OK i know when you farm an area it slows down but when i make a new character and farm there the drops are lower than they were i used to make on an average 3000 per run now runs are netting 1000 with old or new characters is that right

It's pretty sick irony that they hate farming (so casual players are on even footing), but at the same time have anything worth having cost a crazy amount... I Suppose that's more a problem with the player economy though.
You know what would destroy farming, which I see no real downside to? Make good/cool items easy to aquire. By making all of the good stuff extremely rare, they're inadvertantly promoting farming, and then nerfing the success of it

Could you explain what you mean?

You have 7 accounts and wanted to play to avoid the monthly fee of other online games? WoW would cost you about $100 per month!

You logged on last night and thought you could get everything you asked for by going back to WoW? What are you asking for?

spending more?

i really doubt that as you had to buy a separate wow game for the 4 kids same as GW plus an account for yourself.

Gamestop current price for wow is 40 bucks times 5 is 200 to start

add on 15 dollars a month times 5 assuming you can survive with only one account and you have an impressive 75 dollars per month in addition for over 1000 dollars first year

GW............

4 accounts for the kids at 50 equals 200
3 accounts for you with one Factions for about 220 more (dont know what the *pro* version cost but has to be less than CE) comes to about 220

220+200=420 compared to over 1000 for wow

wow is about twice as much for a year.

go back to wow and get a pocket calculator

It has been my experience that if an area gets farmed repeatedly by lots of people then yes the drops will slow down. So what do I do? I go somewhere else and have fun figuring out how to farm there. And I don't run to a forum if I find a place giving good drops and tell a bazillion people so that the new area can get overrun and eventually nerfed.

ever since they nerfed Griffons and introduced the system where the more u farm the less u get, I've given up on farming. I remember back in the days where i would get 1-2 gold items every 10 mins for every griffon run. the thrill of waiting for the gold to drop... priceless...

Aww.. the debate of Farm vs. Anti-Farming.

As a very casual gamer, I dislike when people farm. But must still agree that people should be able to choose what they like to do, and get reward for time they spend.

I would hate to see a.net make new area just dedicated for farming... but if it is "masked and doll up", than I think it would be fine.

Here is an idea i wrote that is somewhat related to farming...

Crystal Mine of Shinmera - Grind Area

Was also think of writing one about "farming the farm".. but will see....

Not to complain or anything but i have yet to see any of these ideas on sardelac sanitarium put into the actual game. I know anet might not want to do this idea, but there are tons of great ideas on this forum that deserve the right to at least be put into the game for a few days, suck as a preview event, like the thread posted by lacasner about the free for all arena, even if this doesnt get put in the game permantly I think a 3 day preview event would be nice. Anyone agree? If need be ill make a seperate thread for this. but comment ppl coment.
